Origine[s]

The “Origine[s]” artistic project was born around Kodály's demanding and monumental Sonata for Solo Cello. An absolute masterpiece of the repertoire, it is renowned for its technical difficulty and great beauty. In a classical sonata form in three movements, the Hungarian composer invents new ways of playing the cello (strings rubbed, plucked, but also percussion, cymbalum imitation, etc.), highlighting not only the instrument's full potential, but also the traditional music of his origins, which he cherished so much.
