Ravel: The Flute Album

*NEW*
2025
Aparté Music

Since his earliest years, Julien Beaudiment has been captivated by the depth and subtlety of Maurice Ravel’s compositions. This emotion has gradually distilled over time, culminating in a rare and vibrant album released for the 150th anniversary of the composer’s birth.

Recorded in the brand-new auditorium of the Antibes Conservatory for a first collaboration with the Aparté label, this fourth album by the flutist aims to right an injustice. While Ravel restored the flute’s prestige in sublime orchestral works, he did not include this instrument in his chamber music pieces.

For this reason, Julien Beaudiment has dared to present rare, even previously unheard, transcriptions for an original duo—flute and piano—with his close collaborator, pianist Célia Oneto-Bensaïd. Each transcription, in perfect harmony with the composer’s genius and the magic of the instrument, opens poetic worlds filled with a myriad of colors.
